Mein Name ist (Dr.phil.) Patricia Angela Huber. Seit 2019 bin ich als Kunsthistorikerin und Historikerin, Mitglied des Fremdenführerverbandes GTA in Palermo. Als Kind habe ich in Venedig und München gelebt. Später gehörten auch andere europäische Städte wie Paris, London, Madrid und Berlin zu meinen Wirkungsstätten. Ich habe dort gelebt, studiert und gearbeitet in Kunstmuseen, im Ausstellungswesen, aber auch als Studienreiseleitung oder lokale Gästeführerin. Immer schon habe ich "quer Beet" geführt, Individualreisende, Delegationen aber auch Geschäftsreisende, Familien und Kollegen. Der Wunsch länger auf Sizilien zu verweilen, kam immer wieder auf, seit ich erstmal, im Alter von 8 Jahren, mit meinen Eltern diese phaszinierende Insel bereisen durfte. Es ist mir tatsächlich gelungen, mein Leben in dieser Hinsicht nicht zu träumen, sondern diesen Sizilien Traum zu leben. Seit 2019 habe ich mir ein zweites Standbein auf Sizilien errichtet und führe hier neben meinem alten Einsatzort Berlin.
Es gibt nur wenige Orte, an denen die Wechselwirkung zwischen Natur und Kultur so komprimiert erfahrbar ist,
wie auf Sizilien. Auch die Gegensätze sind hier prägnater und eindrucksvoller und das hinterlässt Spuren, bei jedem, der damit
in Berührung kommt.
Von der Antike, übers Mittelalter, den barocken Highlights, bis zum Liberty Stil (sizilianischem Jugendstil) bis in die Gegenwart mit erfrischender Graffity Street Art, bis heute wirkt das Flair der Kulturhauptstadt 2018 nach.
2022 steht aber auch im Zeichen der vor 30 Jahren massiv eingsetzten Anti Mafia Bewegung, die mit der Ermordung der Richter Falcone und Borsellino (1992) ihren Ausgang nahm.
In jedem Falle erwartet Sie eine spannende Zeitreise.

My name is (Dr.phil.) Patricia Angela Huber. I am an art historian and since 2019 I am a member of the tourist guide association GTA in Palermo. As a child I lived in Venice and Munich. Later in my life, other European cities, such as Paris, London, Madrid and Berlin, were also among my living places, where I studied or worked in art museums, doing exhibitions, but as well I pursued tour guide or local guide activities.
I have always guided "across the field", individual travellers, delegations but also business travellers, families and colleagues. The desire to stay longer in Sicily, came up again and again since I was allowed to travel this fascinating island with my parents for the first time, at the age of 8. Instead of dreaming my life I managed to live my dream, by establishing a second mainstay in Sicily, apart from my guiding activity in Berlin ( Germany).
There are only a few places, where the interaction between nature and culture can be experienced in such a compressed way, like in Sicily. The contrasts are also more concise and impressive. This island leaves its mark on everyone who deals with it by travelling to or through it.
From antiquity to the Middle Ages, the baroque highlights, to the Liberty style (Sicilian Art Nouveau) to the present with refreshing graffiti street art, the flair of the cultural capital 2018 is still reflected.
2022 is also marked by the anti-mafia movement, that started 30 years ago, and by the assessination of the two judges Falcone and Borsellino.
At any case, an exciting journey through centuries awaits you.
